The Delta State University’s management has released the cut off marks for 2020/2021. In this article we shall be discussing the DELSU Cut off Mark 2020/2021 academic session. Meanwhile, if you are a JAMB/UTME Candidate that selected this institution of learning as your choice, this is the best place for you to get the appropriate information regarding the minimum jamb and departmental cut off mark required of any applicant that applied for admission into Delta State University to meet up with.
It is important to educate all UTME candidates on what cut off mark means even though some of the candidates have been given formal and informal education about it, therefore we would have to give a few definition of cut off mark(s) because we realized recently that some of the UTME candidates do not understand what cut off mark actually implies.
By the general academic rules and guidelines for determining a student who is qualified to study a certain course in the University/any higher institution of learning, the ‘cutoff mark’ simply means the minimum score a student who is aspiring for admission must have made before such candidate would be considered for admission into the higher institution of learning of his/her choice as it is understandable that any student who aspires for admission in the University must have selected a particular course of study, which automatically means that such student will be admitted into a specific department in the University based on the course of study chosen. However, it is expected that students who meet up with the admission requirements as laid down by the University will be offered admission based on their meritorious performance.
However, this will lead us to creating a table explicitly showing the full list of courses available by each department as well as the JAMB (joint admissions and matriculation board)/UTME (Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination) admission cut off marks.
To secure admission into Delta State University for 2020/2021 academic session, the minimum jamb cut off mark required is 180; although the required score points also vary for some courses.
Am I automatically qualified for admission into Delta State University (DELSU) if I score 180 in Jamb?;
Well, to give a sincere response to this, I would say the fact that you scored 180 in jamb which is the minimum jamb score required does not automatically guarantee that you would be offer admission because there would definitely be several other candidates who scored beyond 180 in JAMB, and as DELSU is a competitive tertiary institution in Nigeria as a lot of Nigeria Students choose the school in JAMB due to the excellent quality of education it offers, preference will be given to candidates who scored beyond 180 before consideration is being given to those that scored exactly 180 in there JAMB. However, it is advisable that you should beat the DELSU cut off mark 2020/2021 to improve your chance of securing admission into the University.

After that is done, and you have met up with the DELSU cutoff mark, the next phase of the admission process is the screening exercise. It has come to our notice at ‘naija school admission’ that many students who are aspiring for admission into University and other higher institution of learning do not know what screen exercise actually means and what it entails. Therefore there are two (2) common questions from the applicants are as follows
How does DELSU screening exercise go?
As part of the lay down patterns/methods of admitting students into University, ‘Screening Exercise’ means the verification of the authenticity of results and other credentials of any student aspiring to get admission into a University.
So, What are the requirements for screening exercise in DELSU?
First, it is important for you to know that Delta State University(DELSU) holds her screening exercise within seven days( one week) or more due to the volumes of applicant they usually have every year and also to conduct proper screening for the students to ensure that qualified students are determined and awarded admission accordingly. And to know the dates for the screening exercise, I would advise you to be constantly listening to news update about admission, reading newspapers or visiting the Delta State University news portal for update on the screening exercise dates.
Sometimes when you have your email(s) and phone number registered with the Delta State University (DELSU), they will send the screening date and other relevant information about your admission to you via SMS or mailbox.
Documents required for the screening at DELSU are your SSCE (WAEC or NECO) RESULT and JAMB REGISTRATION PRINT OUT.
To sound a warning note to any student applying to DELSU for screening, do not get to the screening venue less than 35 to 40 minutes before the screening exercise starts so in order to avoid getting to the University pre-screening venue/center late and also to be prioritized for the screening as well as to quickly get notified about any new development relating to the exercise.
Note that the SSCE(WAEC/NECO/NABTEB) RESULT and JAMB REGISTRATION PRINT OUT Screening is considered the first phase of the screening exercise, that is why it is called pre-screening for admission ,therefore this will lead us to discussing the second phase of the screening exercise which takes place after you have been successfully offered admission into the Delta State University(DELSU) to study the course of your choice.
Meanwhile, at this second phase, proper screening and documentations are required which includes presentation of the following documents;
